Balloon artistry or balloon twisting is a form of entertainment requested for children’s parties, birthdays, corporate events, bar mitzvahs, weddings, holiday parties and festivals. Balloon artists can twist balloons to fit specific themes, such as super heroes, or they can do an assortment of favorites. Customers commonly request simple balloon twisting services, detailed balloon art, balloon arches and balloon centerpieces. Several factors affect the cost of balloon twisting.
Time
The main factor to cost is the length of time the balloon artist spends at an event. The longer their appearance, the higher the overall cost. Depending on the size of your event, you may want a balloon artist for an hour (a few children) or several hours to be sure that everyone gets a balloon.
Staggered rates
Frequently, balloon artists have a higher rate for their first hour, with subsequent hours at the same event offered at a reduced rate. For example, Monster in Los Angeles, charges $100 for the first hour for balloon headbands, animals and costumes, and then $40 for each additional 30 minutes.
Set rates
Other balloon artists have set rates regardless of the length of time they are at an event. For example, Magic and Entertainment in Lacey, Washington, charges $100$150 for each hour.
Travel
Travel to and from events can increase costs, depending on the location. Balloon artists may have standard travel rates they apply, or they may calculate a per-mile cost if a location is outside their service area. Area Birthdays in Walnut Creek, California, charges a $29 travel and supply fee in addition to its hourly rate.
Balloon decorating
In addition to party entertainment, balloon artists can also provide balloon decorating. Here’s what Monster charges for various types of balloon party decor:
Balloon centerpiece: $20+
Balloon bouquets: $30+
Balloon sculptures: $40+
Balloon arches: $70+
