How we research and explain fees
A useful price guide tells you where a number came from, what it includes and what you still need to check.
Sources before numbers
Our new fee explainers link to primary material from regulators, government agencies and relevant industry organizations. Credit-card pages link to issuer information. We identify the source and show the date we reviewed it. A review date describes our source check; it does not promise that a provider's terms will stay the same.
Examples are not market prices
We write our own explanations and worked examples in the new expensive-fees section. Hypothetical balances, percentages and time periods are labeled as assumptions. We show the arithmetic and state what it leaves out. These examples illustrate how fees work; they are not provider quotes, national averages or forecasts.
Older price guides
FeeHQ also maintains an existing service-price library. Many of those pages have no recorded original review date. They are labeled as older estimates, and a layout or technical update does not count as a fresh price review. Use their cost factors as a starting point and request current, itemized quotes for your location and scope.
Comparisons and commercial links
Our expensive-fees collection is a selection of important cost mechanisms, not a complete ranking of every fee or provider. It contains direct source links without affiliate tracking. Some older parts of FeeHQ use referral links that may earn compensation. A placement or link is not a guarantee of suitability, approval, quality or savings.
Responsibility and limits
FeeHQ is the organizational author of the new fee explainers. We do not claim that these articles have been reviewed by a licensed financial, legal or tax professional. Use current provider disclosures and appropriate professional advice for decisions involving your own finances or agreements.
When sources change
The source links let you check the current material directly. If a source and our page differ, rely on the applicable current provider disclosure for the offer you receive. Review dates are changed only when the content is checked, not automatically whenever the website is deployed.
