How to compare your options
A catering quote without the venue surcharge is not the final food-and-drink cost. Ask who collects that surcharge and what it applies to, including any separately purchased beverages. Keep the room, caterer and security estimates together so a lower weekday rent is not mistaken for the entire saving if vendor minimums change too.
