SEMAGLUTIDE / U.S. MEDICATION COSTS
Wegovy costswith & without insurance
Compare Wegovy pill, standard pen and HD pen prices without insurance, then check how coverage and a limited commercial savings benefit change the pharmacy bill.
Manufacturer pricing reviewed
Wegovy contains semaglutide. This guide compares U.S. prescription products and payment routes, not treatment suitability. Do not substitute Ozempic or change dosage form based on price. Manufacturer information ↗
Wegovy cost without insurance
Published manufacturer-program prices in USD. These are not universal retail prices or complete care packages. A prescription is required; ask the pharmacy to confirm eligibility and the amount due.
| Standard injection pens | $349 One box of four pens at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7 or 2.4 mg under the self-pay program. Source ↗ |
|---|---|
| Introductory pen offer | $199 per eligible fill Two 0.25/0.5 mg fills for eligible new patients, filled by December 31, 2026; then the applicable standard price. Source ↗ |
| Wegovy HD pen | $399 Monthly supply at 7.2 mg; the $199 introduction does not cover HD. Source ↗ |
| Pill: 1.5 / 4 / 9 or 25 mg | $149 / $199 / $299 One bottle of 30 tablets at the respective strength; not the injection price. Source ↗ |
Wegovy cost with insurance
Having insurance does not guarantee that a specific prescription is covered. Ask for the patient charge after the plan processes the prescription, then check whether a savings offer can apply.
| Insurance covers your prescription | Your plan determines the copay, coinsurance and deductible. There is no single insured price. Source ↗ |
|---|---|
| Eligible commercial coverage + savings | As low as $25 per qualifying fill; maximum benefit $100 for one month, $200 for two, or $300 for three. A higher starting patient charge can leave you paying more than $25. Source ↗ |
| Insurance excludes Wegovy / no insurance | Compare the self-pay prices above. Manufacturer-program prices require eligibility and the correct fulfillment or savings-offer route; ordinary retail quotes may differ. Source ↗ |
| Medicare, Medicaid or other government coverage | The commercial copay offer excludes government beneficiaries. Ask your plan for coverage and cost for the prescribed indication; any separate cash-pay program has its own conditions. Source ↗ |
Commercial savings-card eligibility generally excludes government beneficiaries and requires other program conditions. A separate manufacturer cash-pay offer can have different rules. Do not assume coupons can be combined or that cash purchases count toward plan spending limits.
WHY “AS LOW AS” IS NOT A QUOTE
An illustrated $200 patient payment
- Hypothetical charge after insurance
- $300
- Maximum one-month savings in this example
- −$100
- Remaining medication payment
- $200
For an eligible one-month covered commercial fill, a hypothetical $300 patient charge minus the full $100 benefit leaves $200. The advertised $25 minimum is not a promise that every eligible patient pays $25. Savings terms ↗
Illustration assumes full eligibility, the entire stated benefit remains available and the pharmacy applies it. It excludes clinical care and other charges.
What changes the total cost?
Choose the row matching both the dosage form and supply. A low tablet starting price is not the ongoing price of a standard injection pen. For an introductory injection offer, record the eligible fill count and deadline, then ask the pharmacy for the next fill’s price. A future renewal or different strength should be budgeted from its own quote rather than the first receipt.
Keep care and medication on separate lines
Ask about consultation charges, recurring memberships, follow-up appointments, laboratory work, delivery, injection supplies and taxes. An unlisted charge is not automatically included. Compare the care-provider fee guides, then use the payment budget to add the invoices actually due.
Before you pay
- Does my plan cover this exact Wegovy formulation and prescribed indication?
- What will I owe before and after savings, including my deductible?
- What price will apply when the introductory offer ends?
Prices are not a reason to change a dose, split a product or switch medication without your prescriber. This page provides cost research, not individualized medical advice.
